Israel independence day
Israel's Independence Day is a festival to commemorate Israel's declaration of independence in 1948, which falls on the 5th day of the Jewish calendar in 5708, that is, from April to May in the Gregorian calendar. The following are some common ways to celebrate Israel's Independence Day:
Official ceremony:
On the eve of Independence Day, a formal ceremony was held in Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, including the speech of the Speaker of the Knesset, artistic performances, raising the Israeli flag and lighting 12 torches. After sunset, people from all walks of life, such as the President, the Prime Minister and ministers, will attend the opening ceremony of the celebration held in Hecl cemetery. The ceremony was presided over by the Speaker of Parliament, and the main content was to fire a salute, the number of which was equal to the number of years since the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Speaker will first light a big bonfire to announce the start of the Independence Day celebration to Jewish communities all over the country and even around the world, and then 12 outstanding domestic people, new immigrants or foreign guests will light 12 small bonfires symbolizing the 12 tribes in ancient Israel. Modern bonfires have been replaced by lights, but before the ceremony, a symbolic bonfire will be lit in the corner of the venue.

Public activities:
Many cities hold outdoor performances and fireworks parties in the city center. Many places in Israel hold street parties, where people gather in the streets, sing and dance, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. The Israeli Air Force will perform air shows, including formation flying and stunts, which people can watch in many places. For example, the beach in Tel Aviv is a good place to watch. In addition, some cities will hold food festivals, where people can taste all kinds of local special foods and delicacies. At the same time, many museums will be open to the public free of charge.
Family Celebration:
Traditionally, Israeli families hold picnics and barbecues, and people will go to parks, suburbs or scenic spots for family reunion. Many families will also hang the Israeli flag on the balcony, and some people will wear clothes with the elements of the Israeli flag and paint their faces with the color of the flag.
In addition, every year on Independence Day, the Israeli state will award the highest national prize-"Israel National Prize" to scientists, writers and artists who have made outstanding contributions.
