EN10217 standard is a technical standard for welded steel pipes for pressure bearing formulated by european committee for standardization (CEN).
This standard stipulates the technical delivery conditions of non-alloy and alloy welded steel pipes, and is applicable to the pressure-bearing equipment fields such as boilers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels and piping systems. The EN10217 standard consists of several parts, and different parts correspond to different usage scenarios and technical requirements:
- EN10217-1: specifies the technical requirements for non-alloy steel pipes with specific room temperature characteristics, covering three strength grades: P195, P235 and P265, and each grade is divided into two inspection grades: TR1 and TR2, and the inspection requirements of TR2 are more stringent.
- EN10217-2: It relates to non-alloy and alloy welded pipes with specific high temperature performance.
- EN10217-3: For alloy fine-grained steel pipes.
- EN10217-4: Requirements for non-alloy welded pipes with specific low-temperature properties are specified.
- EN10217-5: Covers non-alloy and alloy submerged arc welded pipes with specific high-temperature properties.
- EN10217-6: It relates to non-alloy submerged arc welding pipe with specific low temperature performance.
The EN10217 standard puts forward strict requirements on the chemical composition, mechanical properties, manufacturing technology and inspection methods of steel pipes, such as tensile test, bending test, impact test and other mechanical properties tests, as well as nondestructive testing such as ultrasonic testing and eddy current testing, so as to ensure its safety and reliability in harsh environments such as high pressure and high temperature.
