EFW: Multi-Layer Welding, Ultra-High Pressure Resistance
EFW's multi-layer welding makes the weld dense and has strong pressure-bearing capacity. The tensile strength of Huayang's DN800 EFW pipe (X70 material) is 550-620MPa, and the test pressure can reach 12MPa. In the 2023 Bohai Sea Oilfield Project, the EFW pipe used in the wellhead branch line stably bore a 8MPa working pressure, which is comparable to seamless pipes. However, the multi-layer welding also leads to a wide heat-affected zone (2-5mm), and the impact toughness is slightly lower, only 26J at -20℃.
