1. Manufacturing process (oil and gas grade HFW)
Hot rolled steel strip → continuous roll forming → high frequency induction heating (100–400 kHz) → extrusion fusion → weld heat treatment (normalizing/tempering) → sizing and straightening → NDT of the whole tube → hydrostatic test → end groove → anticorrosive coating → factory inspection.
2. Core advantages of oil and gas projects
High weld reliability: high-frequency welding has small heat affected zone, uniform structure, better weld toughness and SCC (stress corrosion cracking) resistance than ordinary ERW, and is suitable for acid/high pressure environment.
Extreme dimensional accuracy: small tolerance of outer diameter/wall thickness/roundness, high efficiency of on-site butt welding and high qualification rate, suitable for automatic construction.
Best cost-effectiveness: continuous production efficiency is 20-30% lower than LSAW and 40-50% lower than seamless pipe, which is suitable for large-scale oil and gas pipeline construction.
The specifications cover a wide range: the outer diameter is 114–610 mm (4–24 "), the wall thickness is 3–19 mm, and the length is 6m/12m/24m, which meets the requirements of the mainstream pipe diameter of oil and gas projects.
