Why LSAW pipes are a must?

When the pressure grade of the project exceeds 6MPa, the axial strength advantage of LSAW pipe will be highlighted, which is the core competitiveness that spiral welded pipe can't reach. The performance of Huayang LSAW pipe in the ultra-high pressure field has long been verified by projects of Bohai Oilfield and Sinopec.

In 2023, in a deep-sea exploitation project in Bohai Oilfield, wellhead pipelines with high pressure of 10MPa were needed, and only X70 LSAW pipes from Huayang passed the test at one time. This batch of DN600 LSAW pipes is made of 16mm thick Shougang steel plate. After being treated by Huayang "Digital Double-wire Submerged Arc Welding" process, the tensile strength of the weld reaches 570MPa, and the impact toughness at -20℃ is 42J, far exceeding the project requirement of 30J. Coincidentally, DN800 LSAW pipes selected for Sinopec's high-pressure gathering and transportation project in 2023 also came from Huayang, and their stable performance under 8MPa working pressure made these pipes become the "safety center" of the whole pipeline. Huayang technical director explained: "The straight seam is consistent with the direction of stress and can transmit pressure evenly, which is an irreplaceable inherent advantage of spiral seam pipe."
